 I love candles, I have quite a few Christmas ones. Problem is everyone in my family has experienced a fire except for me, so I don't light them. I'll light them initially to get the smell going and then keep them as Christmas decorations. My mother likes them too, so I buy some for her so I can enjoy them when I visit and she is always thrilled to receive them (along with other gifts). Scented ones are really nice too!
8) Thanks for sharing those, Joanna - made me feel all glowy inside.

I love candles, but with having 2 children, 2 dogs and a husband who has allergies badly, I don't get to burn them often. I do have Rudolph candles i set out every christmas. They smell of cinnamon. Very cute.

I had a candle warmer on top of my fridge and forgot it was on and when I grabbed the glass with the candle in it, the hot wax spilled all over me the floor and the fridge. It took forever to clean it all up.

I don't think they're any more dangerous than an actual candle.

I love scented candles I collect them! I like to burn them all day. I keep them on a shelf away from the dogs. This year I have Old Fashion Peppermint Candy scented ones for Christmas. It smells so good! I burn two at a time!
They say if you store them in the fridge for a few hours before burning them they last longer. :)

I usually just wrap the cuts in tape and paper towel.
ElfinErv
11-25-2007, 01:13 PM
Have you ever tried super glue?
dominick
11-25-2007, 01:15 PM
No, but I've heard of other people using it on cuts.
ElfinErv
11-25-2007, 01:18 PM
I see some glue at the drug store made for cuts, I've been meaning to try it. I cut myself once or twice a week. The fins on heat sinks one major cause
dominick
11-25-2007, 01:21 PM
Oh yeah. I've got a few nasty ones from that. I clot fast, so as long as I'm not puddling, it usually just gets left alone.
Have you ever seen those sheets that the military uses? It's like super clotting agent the pulls all the moisture out of the blood... effective enough to stop bleeding from minor gunshot wounds.

Never, available at Army Surplus Stores? :?

That's neat!
Do you like christmas candles and candlestick?
I love it very much.
I like those candles that look metallic. I got a dark red one last year. I also like candles that are shaped like Christmas trees and I like Advent wreaths with the tall white candle in the center.

I love candles, too, for the flickering flames. But I can only tolerate the fruit, berry, spice and vanilla scented ones due to allergies. I don't do floral, pine, or fabric softener scents. I've been using battery-operated ones when the little grandchildren come over.

Do you know the brand that you like so much and cant find?
ElfinErv
12-04-2009, 10:23 PM
Best Christmas cookie candle I've ever found was a Kmart brand 2 years ago but they have switched brands and all their candles are crappy in my opinion. These tea candles from Wal Greens aren't bad, they give off a lot of scent for their tiny 2 hours of life god bless em

I saw some cookie scented candles at Walgreen today. They were the large jars, 8.99 a piece or 3 for 24 I believe. Smelled pretty good but not sure if thats what you are looking for.
I picked up a Glade Pine and Cedar reed diffuser and I really like it! Finally, a true blue pine smelling diffuser. I was beginning to think you couldnt find them anymore.
