What are some of your favourite Christmas CDs? I find it hard to get a Christmas CD you can listen to in its entirety.

I LOVE the Time Life Treasury of Christmas. That is my all time favourite. I had it from about 1988, and looked high & low for it in the 90s, finally finding it again. I am sure it's easier these days to get a hold of. It is truly a must have for anyone who appreciates the classics (Elvis, Burl Ives, Bing Crosby, etc).

Another good one is the Muppet's Christmas Carol CD. Overall, it's a very lively, catchy sort of non-traditional type Christmas CD.

What are some of your favourites?

We also have the Time-Life treasuries volumes 1 & 2. Another group of CDs that we have that we love are Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas CDs. If you ever get to see them, do it. They're a trip to watch.

Percy Faith Orchestra and Chorus - Christmas Is & Christmas Melodies
Reader's Digest - That Christmas Feeling

Shall I list the rest of my cd collection?

Growing up we did not have a television.. we would listen to things on the radio..

Every Christmas, We listened to a old record of how the grinch stole christmas, I have to hear that a few times!
Then I Have the old record of a walt disney Christmas, It has mickey and minnie pluto and donald singing Christmas songs and telling stories.
Then I have the Walton Family Christmas, ITs full of them telling stories and singing.. It would not be Christmas with out these in our home. I do have each of them in CD form now thanks to limewire! lol

As far as music, Its oldies for me..anything from years past is wonderful, Nothing like "I'll be home for Christmas" !

The only Christmas CD's that I own are all compilations with various artists... like Perry Como, Eartha Kitt... I like the oldies. Oh, I DO have my favorite 2 CD's one is the Nutcracker Suite, and another is all classical type Christmas melodies.

Actually I love Classical music, be it Christmassy or not!

I do have tons of Christmas music on my pc -- I use limewire a lot to search for songs. I had never heard Brenda Lee's Marshmallow World, so I got it off limewire the night before last... :D I loved it BTW!!

Marshmallow World I had not heard that song in several yrs.

I know we sang it in C-mas programs in grade school.

The more I think about it, we had a really great music teacher at my school.

Tim, those are great. I have at least one of the Mannheim Steamroller CDs.

My family liked them so much we had to get them off of ebay so we'd have them for Christmas. We also got their DVD called The Christmas Angel, a must for anyone who like Mannheim Steamroller and figure skating. Have you ever seen them perform? I saw them on TV (I think on a PBS station) about a year or two ago. It was awesome.

No, I've never seen them perform.

Most of my Christmas CDs have been misplaced. ARGH! I buy myself a CD player. Other people take over using it. They take my CDs out and after a while there's a stack of them beside the player. Later, I look in the stack for what is supposed to be there and no one knows where it is. I bought another CD player so I'd have my own. Now I have two that people have taken over and lots of my CDs are missing. Only my husband and I live here. He is as guilty as the next person. The kids come to visit and they can't leave my CDs alone either. I want to know where my Christmas CDs are! I can't find Jingle Bell Rock by Brenda Lee, Mannheim Steamroller, or lots of others. All I can find are the following:

Impressions of Christmas(Solo Accoustic Piano with Nature)
James Taylor A Christmas Album
Christmas with the Chipmunks
Together at Christmas Perry Como and Roger Whitaker

I hope that's not all I get to listen to this Christmas. :(

Time Life set is definately my favorite. I love the Carpenters too. Once Upon a Christmas by Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers is another fav. I stopped buying Christmas cd's for myself about four years ago. Now I can have DH get them from iTunes for me instead of buying a cd when all I want are a couple of tracks from it.

My aunt gave me Vols. One and Two of the Time Life Treasury of Christmas one year for my birthday one year and it is one of the best gifts I have ever received. Nat King Cole's Christmas collection is also a must. The Happy Christmas collections from Tooth and Nail Records are also a fav because I like alternative/punk music. Any Christmas music from the 40 & 50's and big band I also enjoy as well.
