What'd you do? Just fall over asleep while typing? Or did you know you were falling asleep at your pc?
I guess I'm asking; was it a planned nap?
Sorry your back hurts :( I'm going to go lay down again... HOPEFULLY my phone dosen't ring!

No, it's not planned. It's kind of like when you're watching a movie and each blink gets longer and longer. Next you tell yourself you're just going to rest your eyes and you're down for the count.
Good luck with nap time, take II.

What about Hardees?
dominick
11-14-2007, 06:27 PM
I haven't had Hardees in many years. I have fond memories of my Grandpa taking me into "town" (my grandparents lived a bit outside of what I'd call civilization) and stopping there for breakfast. Unfortunately, there just aren't any around here.
ElfinErv
11-14-2007, 06:30 PM
I don't eat there but see their tv commercials, they appear to have the biggest of everything. I think they have one monster burger that has 5 patties on it.

11-14-2007, 06:33 PM
I have a friend at the university in Iowa City (I think that's it). He always regals me with stories of his Monster Thick Burgers. I'm not really sure what they consist of, but they sound good.

Sitting here, annoyed that I can't get onto the bank's online service. This is temporarily alleviated by listening to the radio make a big deal about the fact it was -4 last night. What the English know about Winter you could write on the head of pin.
Marshmallow World
11-15-2007, 04:33 AM
The Indians asked their Chief in autumn if the winter was going to be cold or not. Not really knowing an answer, the chief replies that the winter was going to be cold and that the members of the village were to collect wood to be prepared.
Being a good leader, he then went to the next phone booth and called the National Weather Service and asked, "Is this winter to be cold?"
The man on the phone responded, "This winter is going to be quite cold indeed."
So the Chief went back to speed up his people to collect even more wood to be prepared. A week later he called the National Weather Service again, "Is it going to be a very cold winter?"
"Yes", the man replied, "it's going to be a very cold winter."
So the Chief goes back to his people and orders them to go and find every scrap of wood they can find. Two weeks later he calls the National Weather Service again: "Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?"
"Absolutely," the man replies, "the Indians are collecting wood like crazy!"
dominick
11-15-2007, 04:44 AM
...by listening to the radio make a big deal about the fact it was -4 last night.
You have to be speaking in Fahrenheit, right? If you're going to pull that switch on us, you have to be more clear.
Merry
11-15-2007, 04:47 AM
Nope. Celsius. They use metric for temps here.
dominick
11-15-2007, 04:49 AM
Wow, that is cold.
Merry
11-15-2007, 05:01 AM
Wow, that is cold.
Your kidding right? -4C is cold? Not where I'm from it isn't. :D
The UK is a bit strange weather-wise. It lays at about the same latitude as Newfoundland, yet it has very mild winters. Scotland gets some of what I'd call "real" Winter, but the rest of the island doesn't.
Strange eh.
dominick
11-15-2007, 05:04 AM
Uh, unless I'm too tired to get the conversion right, -4°c is pretty damn cold. That's like -40°F, right? Screw that. Cold stops being fun and pleasant at around 20°F.
Merry
11-15-2007, 06:25 AM
-4 Celsius is 24 Farenhuit. Not much below freezing.

I don't remember the formula for converting metric to imperial. Just Google up one of those online converters. :D
ElfinErv
11-15-2007, 08:33 AM
I remember grade school teachers insisting America would be totally using the metric system by the time we graduated high school
Merry
11-15-2007, 08:36 AM
Canada, where I'm from, went metric a couple of decades or more ago.
The U.K. is a confusing mix of both metric and imperial. Took me some time to adjust when we first moved here as I'd pretty much forgotten imperial all together. Don't know why they don't adopt one or the other.
dominick
11-15-2007, 09:04 AM
The US is the same way (except we call it Standard or SAE, not Imperial).
I feel like I have failed myself if I have to use the online calculator. I need to keep my mind sharp... which obviously isn't working.
The mistake I made was simple, I was lazy and did 4 degrees Celsius, which is around 40° Fahrenheit (I Google checked my work this time ), and then just pretended like if 4°c = 40°f, then the inverse of both would be -4/-40. That would only work if their freezing points were both zero.
Now I really feel like I'm in grade school again.

Relaxing with a drink after a horrible day at work. Hubby will be home soon, so we'll have supper and chill out for the weekend.
Have one for me, too. My day's not over yet, but it's getting progressively worse. Too early for me to have a drink.

Electronic, bought it at Goodwill. It has a magnetic driven motor thats supposed to keep the snow glitter twirling around. The seal leaked a bit and the magnet corroded and literally expanded and exploded. Going to Hobby Lobby today and see if I can find one that will fit. Otherwise this will just be a plain snowglobe.

We ate at our oldest daughter's at 2:00. I ate too many carbs and decided to go without pie. She had about five or six pies though. I told her that was the biggest green bean casserole I'd ever seen. She giggled. I had thirds on that.

I wasn't paying attention, but I saw two pumpkin pies, 2 chess pies, and 1 Dutch apple, maybe that was it. But she made mincemeat squares for her Dad and she used the right mincemeat this time. Yay! We were supposed to bring some of those home and forgot. Maybe we should run back out there tomorrow. She uses my great aunt's recipe for chess pie, but I like my own recipe better.

It was plugged in, but unlike a soldering iron, a soldering gun requires you to depress a spring-loaded triggeer to make it get hot.

Garbage. Absolute garbage. I like how they tell you to use it on electronics, too. There's a pretty risky potential for shorting there because of the way it works. I wouldn't use one if someone paid me to. Besides, my favorite method is torch soldering.
I would be more familliar with a soldiering iron then...
Most people are. Guns are a bit trickier to get the hang of, but work well for me because they heat up so fast. It's really just a matter of having the right tool for the job.

That's a nice one. I'd hate to agree with Dave, but I think he's right about you not filling them correctly.
I don't have a whole lot of use for my propane. It's generally not precise enough to solder with (unless I'm doping pipe), and it's not hot enough to braze or cut steel with like the oxy-mapp gas torch.
